Wind turbines on public sector land could power 1.5 million homes

From The Telegraph: the Environment Agency and Partnerships for Renewables calling for the Government to harness wind power on public sector land. Incredibly, public sector bodies own more than 10 per cent of the land in the UK.

The estimated power produced would be 3GW, enough for 1.5 million homes (about six medium-size cities), and most would be from wind turbines. A small amount would be from solar panels and hydroelectric plants.
