TCI Renewables is applying for permission to erect a 60m high weather monitoring mast at an old RAF site near Diss, and the district council is encountering a number of letters objecting to it. The objections are really against the proposed wind turbine installation, which would consist of three turbines standing around 125m tall. It is expected that the scheme would be able to power 4000 homes.
The opposition group is called 4Villages. South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon is also opposed, even saying that the monitoring mast would be a blight.
