The consultation period for a North Norfolk wind turbine planning application is coming to an end, and it needs your supportive comments. We all know how important it is to develop local, sustainable methods of electricity generation, and local farmer John Mack (with son David Mack) is doing just that. They have formed a company, Genatec Ltd, to operate this ambitious scheme.
The application is for a single turbine on Pond Farm land, and is expected to save around 1200 tonnes of CO2 per year. The tower will be 60m high, and the blades will reach a maximum of 87m. The turbine manufacturer is Enercon, renowned for their reliable and quiet turbine products.
The Macks have an extremely informative website, genatec.co.uk, including their planning application documents and an excellent wind turbine frequently asked questions section. You can also keep up to date with Genatec, by following @genatec on Twitter or Genatec Renewables on Facebook.
Here is the link for submitting your support for the Pond Farm wind turbine. You should take some time to read the planning application and documents.
A recent news article from the EDP, Turbine plans for Bodham split opinion, shows how vocal opposition is in danger of drowning out the quiet (or silent) majority who are quite happy for the scheme to go ahead. More supportive comments are required on the NNDC's planning application to get the message across that these grass-roots green energy schemes are really good for everyone.
