There is so much misinformation and nonsense spouted about how much noise wind turbines make, so it is refreshing to watch this short video - without commentary - of noise levels being put to the test.
The measurements are refreshingly simple, yet rather unscientific: using a Maplin product to record noise for a few seconds at each site wouldn't stand up to a peer review for the Nature journal. They simply give you the general ballpark guide that wind turbines are almost at background levels a few hundred metres away, and not 'noisy' when standing just a few feet from them. Compared to the urban environment, they are positively silent.
